The halls of HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta (HBEU) were gripped by fragrances of cakes as hundreds of employees got busy asking each other whether they were baking or buying.
All cakes were prepared by staff, who brought them in dozens and in various colours and shapes. A total of 30 support staff members and 24 new recruits took part in the event and altogether raised more than €2,000 for NGO, Victim Support Malta (VSM).
VSM provides support and assistance to victims of crime, such as thefts and burglaries, domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, and cybercrime. All the services offered by VSM, including emotional support and legal information, are free of charge and with respect to privacy and confidentiality. VSM can be reached on 2122 8333.
The HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta regularly organises various fundraising and awareness activities to support the society it operates in, while its staff frequently volunteer in the community.
Established in 2006, the Centre has grown through the years with now more than 450 employees assisting UK customers. The centre has expanded its call types now also covering many different query types.
