Marsovin’s 6th Wine Festival was held this weekend (12th, 13th, 14th July). Everybody that went could probably agree that it was a great event, and not only because everyone left there a little tipsy on the winemakers portfolio; showcasing its recent editions and classics.
The location – Hastings Gardens – couldn’t have been more perfect – with the beautiful views over the island from the fortifications of Valetta. It was so peaceful sipping a glass of wine with friends glancing at the beautiful view with occasional fireworks in the distance from neighbouring towns and of course the live entertainment which included Tribali, Red Electrick, The Creepers, Keith & Christophe from Fellowfish and Skarlet.
These local bands are all pretty good, playing a variety of songs, getting a small crowd bobbing along to the tunes. The music gave the festival a jovial atmosphere and we were all disappointed when they had to pack up at the end of the evening. The festival allowed different people to enjoy wine in a different way. Whether it was re-bonding with old friends over a glass (or two), helping lose inhibitions to dance along to the live bands, or the combination of wine and food from the various stalls or simply relaxing on a bench after a long week of work.
You even got to keep your glass at the end of the night, a great souvenir of a great wine festival! Cheers Marsovin!
